Upon completion, four community parks totaling over 32 acres will provide the residents of NorthWest Crossing plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation, just minutes from their doorstep. Though built by the developer of NorthWest Crossing, all community parks will be gifted to Bend Park & Recreation District, which currently operates two of the parks.
In the heart of NorthWest Crossing is Compass Park. This unique 5-acre circular-shaped park features a fun and unique play area, covered pavilion, bike paths and naturally preserved landscape. Compass Park is home to the annual outdoor cinema series, Munch & Movies, which takes place each summer.
Lewis & Clark Park is conveniently located near High Lakes Elementary and features a playground for kids of all ages, rock wall, basketball court and lots of turf to run and play in.
Discovery Park is currently under construction and will be a destination park for Central Oregon. Complete with a fenced dog park, a 3-acre lake and over 20 acres of open space, Discovery Park will be the perfect place to play. Estimated completion is spring 2015.
Sunset View Park is heavily treed with mature ponderosa pine and juniper and has no formal landscaping. The natural setting features trail and exercise stations. The Rim Rock Natural Area and the West Bend Trail lie immediately to the west. Off the beaten path but a great location for a quiet walk or workout.
