A path to nature

Sunset View Park is heavily treed with mature Ponderosa pines and juniper and has no formal landscaping. The natural setting features trail and exercise stations. The Rim Rock Natural Area and the West Bend Trail lie immediately to the west. Off the beaten path but a great location for a quiet walk or workout.

Lewis & Clark Park

fun for all

Lewis & Clark Park is a 2-acre community park conveniently located near High Lakes Elementary School in the heart of NorthWest Crossing. It features a playground for kids of all ages,  rock wall, basketball court and lots of turf to run and play in.

Discovery Park

Discovery Park is will be a destination park for Central Oregon when it opens in late spring 2015. Complete with a fenced dog park, a 3-acre lake, covered pavilion area and over 20 acres of open space, Discovery Park will be the perfect place to play.

So why be cooped up inside in front of the TV, when you could be enjoying an outdoor movie in Compass Park? Four consecutive Fridays in late summer, we’ll be cuddled under blankets, enjoying family-friendly flicks on the big screen under the stars.

September 2: Inside Out (PG)

The film is set in the mind of a young girl named Riley Andersen who has five personified emotions: joy, sadness, fear, anger and disgust. These emotions lead her through her life while her parents move her from Minnesota to San Francisco and she has to go through many life changes.

September 9: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (PG-13)

Three decades after the Galactic Empire has been defeated there becomes a new threat. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance.

Bend’s Uniquely Round Park

Upon completion, four community parks totaling over 32 acres will provide the residents of NorthWest Crossing plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation, just minutes from their doorstep. Though built by the developer of NorthWest Crossing, all community parks will be gifted to Bend Park & Recreation District, which currently operates two of the parks.

In the heart of NorthWest Crossing is Compass Park. This unique 5-acre circular-shaped park features a fun and unique play area, covered pavilion, bike paths and naturally preserved landscape. Compass Park is home to the annual outdoor cinema series, Munch & Movies, which takes place each summer.
