Green Home Builder Magazine has featured NorthWest Crossing in their January/February issue. This national industry publication likes what we’re doing here in Bend, Oregon and displayed that enthusiasm with 5 pages of photos and details about our new urbanist approach, green building techniques and unique business model.
Each home in NorthWest Crossing is certified by Earth Advantage, Energy Star and/or LEED, third party certifications that ensure green building and high performance products and standards are used. Several homes employ passive solar technology including some that have even become some of the region’s first Zero Net Energy homes, meaning the energy used in the home is equal to or less than the amount of renewable energy it creates.
NorthWest Crossing was an early leader in the ‘green movement’ in Bend, which likely aided in the success of the community. You can learn more about our sustainability vision and techniques here and you can read the Green Home Builder article in its entirety here (look for us starting on page 24!).
