NorthWest Crossing Welcomes Barack Obama
NorthWest Crossing’s Summit High School hosted Barack Obama and about 2,000 supporters of his campaign on Saturday. The presidential candidate’s speech focused on renewable energy and on the fall general election, as well as other campaign themes like ending the Iraq war, investing in education and reducing corporate power in the country’s capital.
David Ford, general manager of NorthWest Crossing, said, “Obama’s focus on renewable energy and environmental issues during his visit to Bend made NorthWest Crossing the perfect host location, as these types of issues are also of key importance to our neighborhood as a whole. We were glad to welcome the first major candidate to visit Bend during this election.”
Obama also toured PV Powered, a solar electricity firm based in Bend. While there, he again focused on his plan to shift the nation’s policies toward renewable power sources.
