NorthWest Crossing and Renaissance Homes Team Up to Develop Unique Live/Work Project
NorthWest Crossing, Bend's largest mixed-use community, today announced that Renaissance Homes will be developing a unique live-work townhome project within the neighborhood. The 30 townhomes will consist of retail and commercial street-level spaces, with living space above.
"These townhomes are modeled after a traditional type of space that you might normally find in a historic downtown area," said Robert Wood, vice president of Renaissance Homes. "Bringing this kind of project, which is a little different from most new construction, to a successful neighborhood like NorthWest Crossing is exciting for our team. We look forward to applying our experience in multi-family projects to these new townhomes."
The project is located on NW Crossing Drive, east of the NorthWest Crossing Sales Center, in what will be the "neighborhood center" of the community. The location of the live-work units provides a transition from strictly commercial buildings into full residential areas.
Each two-story townhome unit will follow the NorthWest Crossing neighborhood design guidelines and will consist of 600 square feet of commercial space on the lower level, with 1300-1600 square feet of living space above. Use of the commercial space will be restricted to services, such as a beauty shop, law office, small neighborhood shop and other like businesses.
Construction on the townhomes is expected to being in spring of 2006. They will be listed through NorthWest Crossing Realty.
