Two NorthWest Crossing Homes Featured on Green and Solar Tour
Two homes within NorthWest Crossing, Bend's largest mixed-use community, will be featured during the 3EStrategies Building Green Council's 7th Annual Green & Solar Home Tour.
The first home, located at 2156 NW High Lakes Loop, will be
shown on Saturday, October 7 and the second home, located at
2433 NW Labiche Lane, will be shown on Sunday, October 8 during
the Tour. All homes in NorthWest Crossing are required to be
built to Earth Advantage standards for energy efficiency.
"For us, having homes featured on the Green and Solar Home
Tour reconfirms that we are fulfilling our vision of creating a
sustainable community," said David Ford, general manager for
NorthWest Crossing. "The builder for both of these homes, Bill
Hull, has shown a true commitment to creating homes that are
easy on the environment."
The homes, built by the W.H. Hull Company, display a number of
environmentally friendly features, including:
- Active and passive solar energy elements
- Use of sustainable, environmentally sensitive materials
- Use of energy and water efficient appliances and hardware
- Advanced energy-conservation features, such as insulation and framing techniques
- Xeriscaping that consists of native, drought-resistant plants to save water
"It is very important to me that we conserve our natural resources," said Bill Hull, owner of the W.H. Hull Company. "I have become passionate about building small, efficient homes with passive solar design that use readily available, environmentally friendly materials. My goal is to create healthy homes that the average person can afford." "I enjoy putting a deal together that is positive for the buyer and the seller," said Whitney. "My experience working with individuals over the course of my career helps me to instinctively understand how to make my clients happy."
