Dr. Michael
Henderson has opened a new practice called Bachelor Butte
Internal Medicine in NorthWest Crossing, so accessible adult
health care is just a short walk away. A Bend native, Dr.
Henderson has returned to his roots and opened his practice
which carries a slogan he truly believes in: "Time to
Care".
"I want to maximize the amount of time I am able to spend with
each patient and allow them to express, in their own words,
what is important to them and how that effects their lives,"
said Dr. Henderson. "My goal is to provide patients what they
want-education about their condition and the treatment plan,
while also being able to listen to their story so the treatment
plan is more relevant to them."
The operational strategy of the clinic is unique in that
patients pay at the time of service, which allows the doctor
more one-on-one time with each patient. He has spent up to two
and a half hours with patients in a single visit to ensure the
very best care for each individual. The strategy also helps
reduce wait times for appointments and minimize time spent in
the waiting room. This said, the clinic will send bills to
insurance companies, who will then reimburse patients
directly.
Dr. Henderson received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Des
Moines University, and completed his Internal Medicine
residency at Bostford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI.
Prior to opening his new clinic in NorthWest Crossing, he was a
hospitalist at both McKenzie-Willamette Hospital in
Springfield, OR and then at Seaside, OR.
