When it comes to building, Michael Scannell, believes strongly
in a "hands-on" approach. "I limit myself to a small number of
concurrent projects so that I can supervise and involve myself
in all phases of construction." He even builds his own cabinets
and performs his own finish carpentry to ensure quality and
thoughtful design in his homes.
With over 24 years of construction experience in Sacramento,
Seattle, and three of those in Japan, he is now settled in
Central Oregon focusing on a traditional style of home with a
contemporary flare. Michael's main goal is to get the most out
of aesthetics, function and energy efficiency and utilize as
many environmentally friendly materials as possible.
When he finds free time away from his home-building projects,
Michael enjoys backpacking, rock and alpine climbing, mountain
biking, and backcountry skiing in Central Oregon. He is also an
active member of the Deschutes County Search and Rescue.
